So I called and left her router ID with customer service and hopefully the super will put the fear of $DEITY in her.

So the clinic called today with the doctor that Dr So would like me to see now that he's off beating interns and doing research in Ohio. For someone only four years older than I am, Paula Gerber-Gore has got an EXTREMELY impressive CV. Ortho-McNeil Epilepsy Top Scholar, 2005? That's one of the top THREE grants in the field. She works with surgical and VNS patients, is young, it'd be nice to work with a girl again ... her grad research was with psychogenic seizures. This is a trigger for me given that I got told that I was psychosomatic when I was 17.

Right, so imagine being 17, being told by your doctors to shut up and take your pills, your faith community to shut up and pray harder, and your parents to do both. Basically we should have never have done that work up. Mom was thinking that it would SOLVE ALL MY PROBLEMS OMG and I was not wanting to do it in the first place. I would have done almost anything to get the grownups around me to stop shoving pills that did absolutely nothing down my throat and not listening when I tried to tell them that. But I was a minor child still, stuck between a bad lazy neurologist (Dr Mundall) and a parent too scared to not go against, and to top it off, socialized as a nurse to go along with what the doctor wanted. Add in I never heard a peep about "social support" then, I don't remember anyone ever actually ASKING ME IF I WANTED TO DO IT and we were too far from anything, and yeah.

So I made a call back and I'm going to see her once. If I don't like her, I'll have them send me to Dr Smith. The main issue will be "are psychogenic seizures from software instead of voltage, or are they not seizures?" and see what the answer is.
